Are there any programs for Married Couples? Can we still attend if we have attended premarital program years ago? (Non-Rebate)
We provide both the Marriage Enrichment Program (MEP) and the PREP Group Workshop as well for married couples.
MEP is run one to one along the same lines as the IMPP with a deeper focus on relational history/ parenting and or other couple issues. It also utilises the online assessment tool and corresponding workbooks.
As marriage is a journey comprising many different stages, it is useful to take stock of the changes and reassess relational goals and expectations from time to time. Couples who have attended premarital before their marriage are more than welcome to attend our Marriage programs to learn and apply new skills.
Do you offer Counselling? How many sessions are recommended?
Counselling is offered on a per session basis depending on the issue. Generally, we recommend between 4-6 sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of any treatment plan agreed upon by the counsellor and the client/s.
Clients who require specialized counselling for mental health conditions and abuse related issues may be referred to specialists who provide such services.
Individual Counselling
We offer Individual Counselling for the following issues; anxiety arising from interpersonal conflicts, stress and low self-esteem, life transitions & grief.
Couple Counselling
We also offer Couple Counselling. We first assess the suitability of different programs for our clients.
If we discern their issues require greater intervention, they are encouraged to go for couple counselling sessions to handle relational issues dealing with couple communication, conflicts management arising from different expectations and orientations, break ups etc.
While we offer counselling for marital issues and pre-divorce stages, couples who have decided to divorce will be referred to Divorce Support Specialists Agencies (DSSA) for further support and assistance.
Are the counsellors qualified? How many years of experience do they have?
Our Counsellors qualifications range from Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling to Masters Levels.
